Drywall is base for the finishing to begin. We take a detailed approached as outlined below;

1. Prepare the Area

  • Remove any obstructions from the wall and make sure the studs are exposed.

  • Measure the wall or ceiling to determine the drywall size you’ll need. Standard drywall sheets are 4x8 feet, though larger sizes are available.

2. Cut the Drywall Sheets

  • Measure and mark the drywall sheet where it needs to be cut.

  • Use a T-square and a utility knife to score along the line, then snap the drywall along the scored line.

  • For outlets, switches, or other openings, measure and mark their positions, then use a drywall saw to cut them out.

3. Hang the Drywall

  • Start at the top of the wall (or ceiling, if installing on a ceiling), with the factory edge of the drywall sheet against the ceiling.

  • Use a screw gun or drill to attach the drywall to the studs, placing screws about every 12 inches along each stud. Ensure screws sink just below the drywall surface without breaking the paper.

  • Stagger the seams between sheets if possible to create a stronger surface.

4. Tape the Seams

  • Apply drywall joint tape along all seams and corners.

  • For butt joints, place the tape so that half of the tape covers each sheet.

5. Apply Joint Compound

  • Apply a layer of joint compound over the tape using a drywall knife. Smooth it out to blend with the drywall surface.

  • Let the compound dry, then apply a second, thinner coat to make the seam invisible. Repeat for a third coat if necessary.

6. Sand and Finish

  • Once the joint compound is completely dry, sand the seams and any raised areas until smooth.

  • Use a damp sponge to wipe off any dust.

7. Prime and Paint

  • Prime the drywall with a primer before painting for the best results.
